| Legal Counsel |
Mission
Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal assistance and advice to the Inspector General, Audits, Inspections and Evaluations, Counter Terrorism and Intelligence, and Investigations. Legal Counsel consists of several lawyers with varying experience. Counsel provides legal and investigatory directions to Investigations, coordinates with outside attorneys including local and federal agencies and law enforcement attorneys, and appears in court on behalf of the OIG and its employees.
Legal Counsel also appears in certain court proceedings on behalf of the OIG. Legal Counsel confronts varied topics and issues concerning criminal, civil, administrative, investigative, audit, corporate, and business matters [see Organization Chart].
